FOURTH ROUND CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania invites APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOURTH ROUND from qualified candidates for admission to the Undergraduate (degree and non-degree) Programmes for the academic year 2022/2023. Form four, form six, and diploma graduates with required performances detailed under each program are encouraged to apply.

The Fourth Application Window opens on 3rd October 2022 and will close on 7th October 2022.

A: HOW TO APPLY

  1. Applicants should apply directly to SUA using the online admission system. Click this link: http://41.59.85.16:8389/index.php/registration to Apply.
     
  2. Applications to all programs must be accompanied by non-refundable application fee of Ten thousand Tanzanian shillings only (10,000/=) payable through MPESA/ TiGOPesa / FAHARI HUDUMA or any CRDB Bank.
     
  3. To make payment use Control Number generated during the Preliminary application stages on the online admission application portal.
     
  4. Applicants who are not Tanzanians and their certificates are not issued by NECTA or NACTE are advised to send application letter and copies of their academic certificates to admission@sua.ac.tz
     
  5. Applicants with foreign secondary school certificates and they are in Tanzania they should arrange with the National Examinations Council (NECTA) and NACTE for equivalence translation before lodging their applications.

COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE 

1. Bachelor of Community Development
Requirements:
 Two principal passes (4 points) in the following subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Accountancy, Commerce, Advanced Mathematics or Physics. OR Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, Agriculture or other related fields with an average of ‘B’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in four subjects at O-Level except Religion subject.
Tuition fee: TZS 1,000,000/= per annum and USD 3100 for international students;
Duration: 3 years;
Available Space: 120 for direct entry and 37 for Equivalent.

COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCE

2.BSc. Information Technology
Requirements:
 Two principal passes (4 points) in Advanced Mathematics and one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Computer Science. OR. Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering with an average of ‘B’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects and a minimum of “D” grade in Mathematics at O-Level.

4.BSc. Agricultural Engineering
Requirements:
 Two principal passes (4 points) in Advanced Mathematics and one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry or Geography. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at O-Level OR Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Agricultural Engineering, Hydrogeology and Water Well Drilling, Water Quality Laboratory Technology, Irrigation Engineering or Water Resources Engineering with an average of ‘B’ or GPA of not less than 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects and a minimum of “D” grade in Mathematics at O-Level.

OR Diploma in Rural Development, Community Development, Agriculture or Agricultural Education with an average of ‘B’ or GPA of not less than 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects.

Duration: 3 years;

8. Bachelor of Arts in Development Planning and Management
Requirements:
 Two principal passes (4 points) in the following subject: History, Geography, Economics, Basic Mathematics, Commerce, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, or Agriculture. OR Diploma in Development Planning and management, Governance and Development, Rural Development, Development Studies, Local Government Administration, Education, Community, Development, Political Science, Social work, Sociology, Gender Studies, with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in four subjects at O-Level except for Religion subjects.

9. Bachelor of Science in Bee Resources Management
Requirements:
 Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture, Nutrition or Geography OR Diploma in Forestry, Bee-Keeping, Wildlife Management, Entomology or Agriculture with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Biology and other two science subjects at O-Level.

Advanced level Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in Biology or Science and Practice of Agriculture and one of the following subjects: Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Geography/ Economics and Commerce OR Basic Technician Certificate in General Agriculture/ Technician Certificate in General Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Technician Certificate in Crop Production or other relevance discipline from an accredited institution and CSEE passes in Biology/ Chemistry and Mathematics.

11. Certificate in Tour guide and Hunting Operation
O-level certificate with passes (4 points) in minimum of four of the following subjects: Biology/Chemistry/ Physics/History/Geography/ Mathematics/Kiswahili/French and English OR Possession of Nation Vocation- al Training Award at (N) III in wildlife Tourism and Tour Guiding courses from Institutions accredited By Vocation Educations and Training Authority (VETA). Applicant applying using VTA III must have full filed condition one of the above.

12. Diploma in Crop Production and Management:
