Professor Paul Gwakisa of Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania engaged a “OneHealth” approach to research on sleeping sickness, bringing together the health, environment and agriculture sectors.
Professor Gwakisa has conducted his research with the support of TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, hosted at the World Health Organization.
