On Wednesday, 28th August 2019, the Management of Mtibwa Sugar Company which is one of the largest Sugar Manufacturers in Tanzania, visited Sokoine University of Agricultural (SUA) and met with the Vice Chancellor and other university officers.
The visit which was led by the company Managing Director, Mr. Stan Rau aimed to learn about various services and facilities available at SUA as well as finding new areas of partnership whereby two institutions agreed to establish long term collaborations in the field of agriculture.
The team visited various units and facilities available at Sokoine University of Agricultural (SUA) including Food processing laboratory, Soil analytics laboratory, Bioprocessing laboratory, Model Training Farm, the Crop museum and agro-mechanisation unit.
Among the benefits which will be gained from this collaboration includes not only creation of employment opportunities for SUA graduates, but also increasing the capacity of SUA laboratories to test food and soil samples which will be used by the Factory.
