On Friday, July 26, 2019, Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) met with the delegation from the Shenyang Agricultural University (SYAU) and signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in various areas of mutual benefits.
The two institutions which shares common interests in the field of agriculture have agreed to cooperate in Joint education programmes in International trade economics, BSc agricultural engineering, BSc irrigation and water resource engineering, exchange of students and collaboration of research in the areas that appeal to both sides.
It is expected that the signing of this agreement will lay a solid foundation for both institutions to bring their general education, joint research, joint education, curriculum setting and talent cultivation to the next level and that the two sides will deepen and extend cooperation.
Present at the agreement signing ceremony were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Peter R.Gillah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance) Prof. Frederick Kahimba, Directors from Directorate of Postgraduate Studies, Research, Technology Transfer and Consultancy, Directorate for Undergraduates Studies, Directorate of Planning and Development, Centre for Information Communication Technology, Institute of Continuing Education; Principals from College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Solomon Mahlangu College of Science and Education; Dean of the School of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies; Heads of academic departments and Coordinators from Department of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Department of Agricultural Extension and Community Development, Department of Business Management, Department of Tourism and Recreation, and other university officials
