During his official visits to Sokoine University of Agriculture on 7th May 2018, PRESIDENT of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. John Pombe Magufuli pledged to donate ten brand new tractors to Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) to enable the institution improve practical teachings to students taking courses and programmes in Agriculture.
On 11th August 2018 the University received all 10 tractors in the event held at TAMCO Industrial Estate, Kibaha District, Coast Region. Since its arrivals at the university, the tractors have been in use as expected. The image above shows one of the tractors in action at Solomon Mahlangu Campus farm.
Availability of these tractors helps the University to produce competent and qualified agricultural graduates who will not only become competent farmers, but also help in improving agricultural production in the country.
