The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) which has its headquarters in Philippines, regional centers in East and South Africa has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) today (March 16, 2018).

Although Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) has been collaborating with IRRI since 1971, this agreement involves exchanging Organization members and research fellows, joint supervision of student’s research, dissertation and thesis, exchange of academic material, publication and information, conducting joint research projects, establish joint research facilities and also collaborating in resource mobilization for research and education.
The agreement was signed by the IRRI Deputy Director General, Jackie Hughes and the Sokoine University of Agriculture Vice Chancellor Prof. Raphael Chibunda.
