The Vegi-Leg project aims to safeguard nutrition security for the local population in Tanzania (Lindi) and Mozambique by supporting the development of processing technologies to improve the nutrient quality of products and the perennial availability of pigeon peas and indigenous vegetables.
With collaborations from the Sokoine University of Agriculture, Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research, University of Hohenheim, and SIDO-Lindi, the project has implemented a combination of low-cost technologies to guarantee basic nutritional needs together with investments in processing technologies to add value through market integration.
