This was stated on September 13, 2022, by the Minister of Education, Science and Technology Professor Adolf Mkenda during the official launch of the HEET Project which aims to improve higher education in Tanzania.

"This project is big and unique. It will help push Tanzania forward in providing quality education by improving infrastructure and curriculums in higher education institutions" said Prof. Mkenda

Giving instructions to the coordinators of the project, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Francis Michael urged them to oversee the project's implementation and that all funds should be used according to the intended goals and if there is a trick being used to destroy the implementation, all those involved will be held accountable.

Dr. Winfred Mbungu, the coordinator of the HEET Project at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), explained that SUA will benefit in seven areas, including construction and renovation of old buildings, obtaining scholarships for employees to attend long- and short-term courses, increasing SUA's income generation, and helping people with disabilities.

The launching ceremony for the HEET project, which will run for five years from 2021 to 2026, took place in Dar es Salaam in front of representatives from the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the Vice Chancellors of Universities, Higher Education Institutions, and Health Institutions, as well as the Project Coordinators of beneficiary institutions.
