Graduates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of (i) ecological factors associated with parasitic diseases of man, domestic and wild animals, (ii) methods for diagnosis and control of parasitic diseases of man, domestic and wild animals and (iii) research methods in parasitology.

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES AND ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
The minimum time for full time student to complete MSc Parasitology shall be four semesters. Assessment criteria for various components of examinations shall be as stipulated in the Sokoine University of Agriculture regulations and guidelines. A candidate who decides to end studies for some reasons but after accumulating a minimum of 120 credits shall be awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Parasitology (level 9).
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Sokoine University of Agriculture admission criteria for higher degrees shall apply. A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the Masters degree in Parasitology if he/she has:
- University Degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science/Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences from SUA or from a recognized institution with at least a credit in Parasitology;
- Degree in Medicine, Dental or Nursing studies from a recognized institution with at least a credit in Parasitology;
- Candidates with BSc Wildlife Management or BSc Animal science or BSc Range Management from SUA or from recognized university with Distinction or Credit in Parasitology;
- Candidates with BSc Zoology/ Biology degree with at least a credit in Parasitology and previous substantial work experience in veterinary/medical Parasitology.
