On Friday, 22nd November 2019, at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Square hall in Mazimbu, Morogoro, the Chancellor of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Hon. Joseph Sinde Warioba conferred PhDs, Masters degrees, Bachelor degrees, Diploma and Certificate qualifications to the 2018/2019 academic year graduands.
In this year, a total of 2876 students were awarded various degree qualifications offered by Sokoine University of Agriculture whereby 1027 were women which is equal to 35.71 percent, an increase of 17.5 percent in contrast to the 2018 graduates whereby women were 874.
Out of 2876 graduates, 40 students received Doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees (whereby Men = 31 and Women = 9), 144 students received Masters degrees (whereby Men = 94 and Women = 50) , 6 students received Postgraduate Diploma in Education, 2440 received bachelor degrees (whereby Men = 1585 and Women = 855) , 214 students received Diploma and 32 received Certificates.

Speaking in the event, the Chairman of Sokoine University of Agriculture Council, Hon. Mohamed Chande Othman noted that the Council has continued to carry out its responsibilities, making sure that University fulfills its mandate of providing training, doing Research, and provision of various services.
The Council has implemented various activities such as approving the implementation of the Fourth Phase 2016 - 2021 SUA Corporate Strategic Plan where implementation started for the first time in July 1, 2016 and to date the strategy has been implemented by 80%. The council has also approved various university policies, rules and regulations
In his turn, the university's vice-chancellor, Prof. Raphael Chibunda urged all graduates to be good ambassadors who would better represent SUA and that they must use the education that they have gained at SUA to be creative, entrepreneurs as well as creating jobs of their own and refraining from complaining.
He urged them to be a catalyst for efficiency, productivity and creativity in various national building activities and that they provide excellent service to the community and wherever they serve.
