The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Gender Policy Implementation Committee (GPIC) in collaboration with Dr. Fatihiya A. Massawe, a 2018 Martha Farrell Foundation Memorial Fellow organised a two days Training of Trainers on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace on 3rd and 4th April, 2019.
The facilitator of this training was Ms. Nandita Bhatt, who is the Director of Martha Farrell Foundation. The training aimed at building common understanding on the issue, Building skills in conducting sessions on the issue using participatory training methodologies and Time bound realistic planning for implementation of policies. In particular for this workshop is regarding to sexual harassment issues at SUA Campuses.
A total of 30 representatives from students, staff Association and SUA service providers attended the workshop. Participants were able to work in groups and make presentations on various matters such as the reason to why they need sexual harassment knowledge and what do they expect to do after the workshop.
