Prof. Maulid Mwatawala, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), held talks with Dr. Flavio Andreoli Bonazzi, CEO of Hydrowatt Abruzzo from Italy, during his visit to SUA. The meeting preceded day two of a professional training aimed at enhancing knowledge in water management, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture.

Prof. Mwatawala highlighted SUA’s efforts in improving its curricula to ensure students gain practical skills that support innovation and national development. He noted the importance of the ongoing Renewable Energy Project at SUA in offering hands-on learning opportunities.
Dr. Flavio emphasized the role of renewable energy in combating climate change and stressed the value of international collaboration in safeguarding natural resources.
SUA is among institutions benefiting from the Renewable Energy Project, alongside Mzumbe University (Tanzania), and four other universities from Uganda and Rwanda.
