Appointment & Term of office
Deputy Vice Chancellors are appointed by the Chancellor on the advice of the Council and after consultation with the Senate, and upon such terms and conditions as the Council may prescribe from a list of three candidates who have attained a status of professor or associate professor or its equivalent in either teaching or research or both teaching and research, and who have outstanding academic and administrative capability of at least five years at senior management level on the basis of recommendation submitted by Search Committee set up in accordance with the Third Schedule or through a procedure of Public advertisement for the post.
The Deputy Vice Chancellors hold office for a period of four years and may be re-appointed consecutively for one more term of four years.
